Daniel Fast 2014

This weekend our church will be beginning its annual corporate fast.  It's up to each of us what and how we fast.  My husband and I tend to choose the Daniel Fast.  I've decided that, after a few years of spending too much time worrying about food during the 21 days, I needed to make up a meal plan for the full 3 weeks ahead of time.  Here's our menu plan:  
I'll make big batches of the breakfast muffins so that they're easy to grab on busy mornings.  I'll also make a triple batch of corn muffins to have on hand for soup and chili nights.  Since we have young kids, I will also be grabbing a big pack of chicken breasts to cook up and freeze.  This way I'll be able to easily throw some meat into the stir-fry dishes for them.

“Please test your servants for ten days: Give us nothing but vegetables to eat and water to drink. Then compare our appearance with that of the young men who eat the royal food, and treat your servants in accordance with what you see.” So he agreed to this and tested them for ten days.  At the end of the ten days they looked healthier and better nourished than any of the young men who ate the royal food.  Daniel 1: 12-15
